The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a civil rights law, enacted in 1990, aimed at preventing discrimination against and providing equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Concepts related to workspace design are most comprehensively covered in Title II (Public Services) and Title III (Public Accommodations) of the ADA.
Many products force users into postures that are overly reclined, close to the ground, or mismatched with supporting tables, making these areas incompatible with normal work activities. Selecting the right product for these spaces is important to ensure that the spaces are comfortable and productive.
Once it is safe to return to the office, a new normal to promote health and provide a sense of safety is going to be expected. Health and safety considerations are rising in importance, alongside our continued considerations for cost, team cohesion, and productivity.
