Allsteel Inc. celebrated workplace health and wellness with the first major event to be held in their new Los Angeles Showroom, the first to be awarded WELL Certified™ Gold status in the retail program by the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™). More than 80 guests, including architects, designers, partners and clients attended the festivities on Thursday, February 22, which was sponsored by Spinitar, the audiovisual systems company, and Interface, Inc., the modular carpet manufacturer. Titled “Well Treasured,” the evening included the presentation of the WELL Gold plaque by Mark Strauss, Senior Strategic Advisor to IWBI, who then lead an informative and inspiring panel discussion on lessons learned pursuing WELL certification. His fellow panelists included Courtney Moline, WELL AP and Sustainability Manager at Allsteel; AJ Paron-Wildes, National Architectural and Design Manager at Allsteel; and Jennifer Berthelot-Jelovic, WELL Faculty and President and CEO of A SustainAble Production, LLC (ASAP). Along with enjoying healthy finger foods, guests participated in a “Treasure Hunt,” following clues on a map to identify the showroom’s wellness features. Those scoring highest won wellness-promoting experiential prizes, such as spa treatments and juice cleanses.
