Senior Workplace Advisory Manager at HNI, Dr. Lauren Gant, will lead a presentation on trauma sensitivity in the workplace and its effects on workplace dynamics, such as heightened stress and task completion struggles. The session will dive into groundbreaking research on how trauma relates to the workplace and highlight actionable insight for crafting workspaces that mitigate trauma triggers while also fostering resilient, thriving environments.
Dr. Lauren Gant will be joined by Dr. Rachel Drosdick-Sigafoos, owner of The Well Workforce, a people-focused consulting business that enhances workforce readiness and works with a wide range of employees, from frontline staff to C-Suite executives. The two will introduce exploratory research studies around how trauma informs workspaces while providing recommendations and solutions for designing and cultivating how thoughtful design can enhance mental health, boost employee satisfaction, and foster a positive workplace culture. Lauren Gant, PhD, CPE, WELL AP is a Senior Workplace Advisory Manager at Allsteel. Lauren is highly involved in research of emerging trends, the application of human-centric design principles in the workplace, and product development of products to support healthy work environments. Lauren is involved in education for companies in any phase of design – from planning to after move-in – on topics ranging from inclusive design, to ergonomics, to digital equity. She has also taught engineering and ergonomics courses at the university level. Her goal is to ensure that the design of products and environments encourage health, promote productivity, and foster inclusivity for a broad spectrum of worker types, sizes, capabilities, and backgrounds.
