(MUSCATINE, IA) – Two-Thirds™, a collection of seating and surfaces designed by Joey Ruiter for Allsteel Inc., boasts simple shapes that can be combined to create adaptive and dynamic spaces. Featuring a lightweight design that supports maximum flexibility, the products in the portfolio respond to a need in the marketplace for collections that complement intimate or collaborative work, especially as teams grow and agile work styles spread across industries.  Without a predetermined front, back or side, the design allows users to sit where they want. The lightweight construction allows the user to reposition as they see fit. The collection enables a fun, creative vibe while still feeling sophisticated and allowing the user the ultimate choice: to arrange and rearrange as their work demands.

The broad statement of line allows users to easily create unique combinations to help optimize their ideal space. The poufs, benches and tables can be used alone or can be combined to help corral chaos for a cohesive aesthetic. The line is planned around a 7” increment which provides an obvious way to nest the product together and order the chaos after a day of agile collaboration. An interesting upholstery detail exhibits a two-thirds design that adds color contrast that is carried across poufs and benches.

“The blend between natural and geometric is a familiar gesture engrained in our minds.” explains designer, Joey Ruiter.

The portfolio includes poufs and tables in a multitude of sizes and shapes including: Block, Pebble, and Round. The wide variety of shapes, sizes, and configurations make this collection built for multi-purpose solutions: from a deskside pull-up for impromptu meetings, a small collaborative station in lobby nooks, overflow seating for meeting rooms, or lively centerpieces to the office atrium. The combination of fun volumetric shapes and endless color possibilities (available in a standard, two-tone or custom options) add interest to a space while the simplicity of the design provides an intuitive and flexible solution for the end user.
