Allsteel Honored with 2011 Green Good Design Award

(MUSCATINE, IA – NOVEMBER, 2011)— Allsteel Inc. has earned a Green GOOD DESIGN™ Award for its Inspire seating. Presented by The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Anthenaeum, this year’s honor marks Allsteel’s fourth time as a recipient over the past three years, with Inspire winning in the Product Design category.

“When Allsteel is cited for its product designs, the acknowledgment is always appreciated,” said Angela Stoffel, Allsteel’s Product Manager for Inspire. “But, when the company also is recognized for its contribution to sustainability, we’re doubly proud. Inspire’s concise engineering stems from the extensive research we’ve conducted in learning the needs of educational institutions. We are very excited to once again attain this Green GOOD DESIGN Award.”

Inspire marries uncompromising comfort with sustainable design. It uses TriFit Technology to incorporate seat suspension, back recline and seat flexure to provide enhanced comfort for the user. These technologies have been designed to exceed performance requirements and ensure lasting use. Inspire’s Trisect upholstery is constructed with 100% antimony-free polyester as well as Greenshield water- and stain- repellant finish. Inspire holds level 2 Certification, MBDC Cradle-to-Cradle Silver Certification and SCS Indoor Advantage Gold Certification.

Established in 2008, the Green GOOD DESIGN award globally recognizes products, programs, individuals, governments, environmental planning initiatives and architectural installations that place a strong emphasis on sustainable design and the environment.
