(MUSCATINE, IA) – Building on the success of the current collaboration, Allsteel Inc., a leading workplace furnishings manufacturer, is excited to announce the newest products from their innovative European furniture and accessories partner, Normann Copenhagen. Known for its bold, contemporary Danish-design sensibility, the Normann Copenhagen brand encompasses a wide and continuously growing collection of furniture, lighting, and accessories that will now be available through Allsteel’s extensive dealer network.

“Hygge” is one of the most internationally celebrated words in the Danish language – it expresses the quality of feeling good and secure, feeling warmth and comfort. With the Hyg collection, designer Simon Legald uses these attributes as the guiding influence to design an exclusive range of seating with soft lines and gently hugging contours, creating a relaxed and enjoyable space for rest. The series, which consists of a sofa, a lounge chair and a footstool, provides a warm and heartfelt embrace to the end user. The ample silhouette radiates a welcoming organic purity and its voluminous form is offset by a narrow back which hones and refines its expression. The high sides provide subtle privacy, while the broad seat allows for a wide range of relaxed seating postures.

Designed by Japanese designer, Tatsuo Kuroda, the Knot chair unites classic materials with modern aesthetics to create a clean and simple expression reminiscent of furniture from the 1950s. The overall impression is determined by distinct design details, such as the dominant jointing points wound in natural paper cord, enhancing both seated and visual comfort.

One Step Up is simultaneously a bookcase and light room divider that combines form, material, and function in a simple and pure design. The designer, Francis Cayouette, was inspired by the traditional ladder to create this new, flexible piece of furniture ideal for a multitude of settings. Blending different materials, including natural ash wood and industrial metal shelves, the designer was able to create a dynamic aesthetic while harnessing both mobility and functionality.

The Pad Lounge series attains its special character from the unique combinations of materials, tactility, and shape. The molded shell in oak veneer is combined with a soft padded seat for a balanced aesthetic, while the clean lines of the metal frame add a strength and airiness to the slim silhouette. Comprised of a high and low lounge chair with a complementing footstool, the Pad lounge series offers the ultimate experience of comfort and elegance.

Rope is a modular sofa with clean round lines combining traditional upholstery techniques with personal expression. Designer Hans Hornemann found his inspiration in classic furniture design, incorporating piping along the edge of the sofa in an understated and elegant way. It is precisely this detail that the designer has highlighted and turned into a fundamental element of the collection lending to its name. The design plays with dimensions and curves, emphasizing a visual that is simultaneously minimalistic and still full of character.

By integrating an extensive selection of beautiful and versatile solutions from Normann Copenhagen, Allsteel presents a vast array of design possibilities for today’s organizations to create warm, inviting, residential-inspired office environments – supporting a rising market need that addresses a work-life blend sensibility to design. With competitive price points, desirable lead times and seamless ordering capabilities, the expanded partnership simplifies the specification process for the design community and signifies Allsteel’s commitment to bringing accessible Danish design and new sensibility to the North American Contract workplace.
